There are several ways to pay for construction training at Construction Skills College. Depending on your circumstances, you can self-fund, receive employer support, or use an approved retraining or funding scheme. If you are unsure which route applies, contact us before booking.
Quick answer: most courses can be booked privately. Employer payment, DWP Low Value Provision, ReAct+ in Wales and Armed Forces learning schemes may also be available, subject to eligibility and approval that we do not control. If you are unsure, contact us before booking.

Self-Funding a Construction Course

You do not need funding to train with us. Most courses can be booked and paid for privately. Payment options include bank transfer, debit card, credit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Amazon Pay. PayPal Pay in 3 may also be available, subject to PayPal's eligibility and approval. A third-party finance option is planned and will be added once available.

Where a course allows a deposit, the balance must be paid in line with the payment terms shown on the individual course page.

Funding for People Who Are Unemployed or Receiving Benefits

If you are unemployed and/or receiving benefits, you may be able to obtain support towards vocational training through the Department for Work and Pensions. One possible route is Low Value Provision (LVP).

Funding is not automatic. Speak to your Work Coach or adviser before booking. If they consider the training appropriate, we can provide course title, content, duration, dates, location, cost and provider information to support the process.

Redundancy Training Funding

If you are being made redundant or have recently been made redundant, training may be funded by you, your current or former employer, a redundancy support programme, a charity or another organisation supporting you back into employment.

If an organisation has agreed to fund your training, contact us. We can provide course details, prices and supporting documentation and, where appropriate, arrange direct payment.

Company and Employer-Funded Training

Your employer can pay for your training, whether you are developing a new skill, adding another trade to your role or undertaking training relevant to the company's work.

ReAct+ Funding for Learners in Wales

If you live in Wales and have been affected by redundancy, ReAct+ may provide support towards eligible vocational training. Construction Skills College accepts approved ReAct+ funding.

Eligibility and funding rules are determined by Working Wales and can change. Speak to a Working Wales adviser first; we can then provide the course information required for your application.

Armed Forces, Veterans and Family Funding

Armed Forces funding has its own page because the rules are detailed. In short:

We are an approved ELC learning provider. ELC applies to designated Level 3 programmes only, not every short course.
Eligible serving personnel may use SLC towards suitable standalone courses: currently 80% of eligible fees, up to £175 per financial year, with approval before the course starts.
SLC cannot be used at the same time against elements already supported by ELC
Eligible serving personnel, service leavers, veterans and Armed Forces family members may also have access to reduced-cost training where ELC is not available or not the right course.
