I would recommend the course because you learn from start to finish fitting a kitchen, some tricks and tips and things you may not have taken into account. The most useful for me would be the worktops as for me was the hardest part along with using the jig correctly. The course has been brilliant and the tutors has been fantastic and its been a pleasure. Thank you, John, for your patience and hard work. The tutors is a credit to the college.

The most useful part of the course was absolutely everything. This will help me set up my business and create a new career after the army. All the tutors, the allocated workspaces and materials for training were all adequate for the training. The tutor was great. He has lots of experience and stories to pass onto us. What was great was, he transferred this knowledge very effectively to us students. Thank you so much for this college. You’ve helped so many ex-forces and continue to find their feet into civilian life.

All aspects of the course were interesting & useful but learning how to work with uneven floors and walls were very good. Also, fitting the worktops was very good. This is the third course here & all three have been fantastic. There is sufficient time in the programme to understand how to do it properly, take your time & get the most out of it to set you up for success. The quality of instruction is fantastic. A massive thank you to the tutor for delivering a fantastic course. I, along with the remainder of the course are very confident that we could fit a kitchen to a high standard. Thank you, John. The most interesting / useful part of the course for me was cutting the worktops and cornices and knowing the steps required to fit a kitchen from start to finish. Very good value for money, tutors all friendly & knowledgeable on their subject matter. What I like about the college is the value for money on training packages. Much better than other ELCAS providers that I have previously done courses with. Well put together courses. Would highly recommend to all service leavers looking at getting into the building trade.

The experience of the kitchen fitter has shown me its like everything else in life. If you don’t know it’s a daunting task but when you know what to do, it’s a satisfying task to achieve. The most interesting / useful part of the course for me was levelling, scribing, measuring and cutting materials. I had never scribed before and now I am very confident to do this task.

I would recommend this course to others, good way to save money in the long run. The most interesting / useful part of the course for me was using the router to cut worktops, setting up the jig, scribing.

The most interesting / useful part of the course for me was scribing and cutting worktop joints as has proven to be a difficult task, this is what customers will see so good to get it right. Knowledge of importance of levelling all units in early stages. I would recommend this rouse to others, hands-on and friendly learning environment.

The most interesting part of the course was scribing the worktops with the router: male, female and bolt cuts. The most useful part was using the planer on the worktop and décor panels – more confident using the tool. The tasks were made harder with the floor and walls out, so it developed your skills more.

The experiences the tutor has can’t be bought, giving the course loads of helpful tips which you wouldn’t normally get. The most interesting / useful part of the course for me was everything! I came knowing nothing and am leaving feeling confident about fitting a kitchen. Overall, great experience, feel confident now, great instructor.

Having never fitted a kitchen before, I know have the knowledge and confidence to achieve this. Yes, I would recommend the course to others, it gives you the confidence to try things. If something doesn’t quite work out, John gave you the options to troubleshoot and find a solution, instead of just giving you the answer. John is a fountain of knowledge. He is very passionate about the trade and is a credit to the college. I now look forward to putting these skills into practice.

The most interesting / useful parts of the course for me was having my eyes opened to how easy, if you’re confident, fitting a kitchen can be. Worktops were the most daunting and will continue to be but now we’ve used a jig I’m happy to crack on at home. Thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish. A real sense of achievement. What I like about he college is everyone’s here to learn or teach and it shows that everyone enjoys being here.

Everything we learn was useful. Can’t prioritise a part with another as all tasks were interrelated. A mess up on a part will later lead to bigger mistake. How we troubleshoot our mistakes was very important. I would recommend this course to others as this course will allow you / give confidence to work on real world what we learnt here.

The most interesting / useful parts of the course for me was using the jig and router to fit worktops, scribing – never knew this even happened. I would recommend this course to others, very knowledgeable instructor with learning set at an easy, relaxed pace. Caters for all learners and very approachable nature. Thank you again! Loved every minute of all three courses and feel like I’ve developed myself after 23 years of service. Very enjoyable! What I like most about the college is the instructors are so knowledgeable and approachable making every course relaxing and easy to follow, even with no prior experience. Excellent facility.

Fitting the worktops was the most useful part of the training but all the other little hints and tips were priceless and have added to the skills I already had. The facility is excellent and a brilliant environment to train in. The knowledge of the tutor is priceless. Mant thanks for support and assistance received to help me achieve my aim.

I would recommend this course to others, if somebody wants to complete this job as a career, then this is a good opportunity and if not this is very useful for DIY. The most interesting part was fitting kitchen tops, every part of the training was useful. This would be a beneficial course if someone wants to be a tradesman in the future. Instructor was highly skilled and experienced, good instructional techniques. The most interesting / useful parts for me was, new tools which I had never seen before, learning together with new friendly bunch of people, technical measurements and cutting were interesting and useful.

Great course, credit to John. Learned a lot and out of all the courses I feel confident to attempt to fit a kitchen myself with no issues. I couldn’t have achieved this if hadn’t attended these courses. You feel there is enough support to get things wrong and help to understand to put them right. The most interesting / useful parts for me was learning about areas that I wasn’t fully aware of such as scribing and finishing the edge of the work surface after cutting.

This course is good if anyone likes to build their own kitchen, help relatives or develop a career. The most interesting / useful parts for me was to be able to join up all items such as bases and kitchen units resulting to a beautiful kitchen in the end. The most interesting / useful parts for me was all aspects of kitchen fitting. Johns’ real life experience and tips were invaluable as I start my business soon. If I had know about Construction Skills College before I started resettlement, I would have invested all of my time here. Excellent training provider. What I like about the college is proper tradesmen as instructors. We were hands-on on day one, that’s what we are paying for.

Cutting worktop and using jig was the most interesting and useful parts of the course. It is very useful and best knowledge to earn money in civi street. What I like about the college is good resources available anytime and very helpful staff and instructors.

The most interesting / useful parts for me was sequence of fitting, scribing, routing and use of jig, repairs. I would recommend this course to ithers, excellent when compared to other providers. Good value, in depth knowledge from tutor with lots of hands-on experience gained.

In general, I had very low knowledge of the subject. This was a very good introduction, and I now feel competent, particularly regarding cutting and scribing worktops. Very good value for money, gained a useful skills I will exploit in the near future.
