I would recommend this course to others, covers all key elements of basic carpentry and with plenty of time to practice each element you can walk away knowing how to do it effectively. What I like about the college is it’s a good set-up, good amount of space for the carpentry work, could do wok without disruption from others. I would recommend this course to others. I see these courses as investments not expenses. What I like about the college as it is easy to get to from most parts of the region. Each trade has plenty of space to work in – the building is well laid out. The most interesting / useful parts of the training course for me was the access to a wide variety of tools. I feel that the amount of knowledge I gained from a short two-week course is outstanding and is great value for money. I had a basic understanding of most of the things we learnt but it was good to learn how to do things in a more professional way and achieve a near perfect finish. The tutor was outstanding, he made the course great, a true asset to your company. He was patient, going over each task and was quick to support / teach you when you got stuck or needed to be shown again. He was approachable, so you never thought it was bad to go back again for help. He was encouraging, positive mental attitude to crack on with the ability to achieve and do well. Definitely will be back for more courses. The entirety of the course was interesting and useful, each aspect that the tutor taught me I will be using in my own house renovation. Also, I will be using the skills to go on to do work for members of the public.

I would recommend this course to others because of the way in which the course is delivered. A relaxed yet professional manner that gets the key learning points across in a simple yet effective way. I felt that the course is structured in a methodical way that built on each stage. The most useful / interesting parts of the course for me was gaining an understanding of the hand tools and how to complete the task but then also what machine operated tools are available to complete the same job and then being able to practise and utilise both.

Very good course, I feel the course will be very helpful to anyone starting out in carpentry. I feel this that the structure of the course is excellent. I felt the most interesting part of the course was the door and frame installation, learning how to shim out the door frame to reduce the amount of work needed on the door was insightful. Will definitely recommend the course to anyone interested in developing their trade skills.

The most interesting useful parts were full sequence of door fitting using correct tools – laminate flooring good to know how to lay – impressed being able to construct a cabinet out of MDF vey useful. Carl is an excellent tutor. Calm, patient and engaging. He was also willing to offer advice and support on our own projects. What I like about the college is it’s great to get hands on immediately with minimal classroom time. All of the tasks followed logically. Each task is something I’ll be doing on my own home and in employment. A very well thought out course.

The course was pitched at the correct level allowing students to master the basics with hand tools and progressing appropriately on to more complicated practices with power tools. It was very informative and enjoyable. Thank you. The most interesting parts were being taught the fundamentals of carpentry, utilising age-old methods with new practices enabled a thorough understanding of the subject. I now feel confident to undertake most carpentry tasks to a good standard. I cannot recommend this college enough.

The college is an excellent facility. I have already completed plumbing and carpentry and will return for kitchen fitting. All under one roof. I found hanging a door most useful. However all the little hints, tips and tricks added to my already little knowledge. The course was very helpful and have added to my confidence to carry out jobs.

It is very a very useful way for beginners to learn the trade and have the confidence to try when previous you might not have. Learning how to use all the different tools correctly and the different types of tools for different jobs. Fitting wood floor was really useful and the tips for doing the skirting. What I enjoy about the college is there is no pressure whatsoever and always a tutor on hand to advise. Even the tutors form other subjects are friendly and see how you are getting on. A really enjoyable course and I have learned a lot.
