Learner Reviews

Very knowledgeable staff who take time to make sure you understand everything. The most interesting/useful part of the training course was learning about the setting out process needed before starting a tiling job and the correct method of tiling.

Benefits of attending a Multi-skilled Course

  • Many customers prefer to use one trades person to complete projects such as modernising a bathroom rather than arrange a tiler, plasterer and plumber to complete the work.
  • If you are multi-skilled then you are able to obtain work either plastering, plumbing, tiling, kitchen fitting, etc separately or as a package which increases the jobs you are able to quote for.
  • If you are successful in obtaining a complete project such as modernising a bathroom then that one job will give you several days / couple of weeks work which can be preferable to several one / two day jobs.
  • Finance is available for our multi-skilled packages which enable you to spread the cost of your course.
… very good trade practices are being taught & demonstrated by the centre staff & fully supported by very good theory being taught to the candidates … the quality of the candidates work continues to be at a high level which will certainly help any candidate seeking full time employment in the construction industry, well done to all candidates & centre staff.

You are Taught by Experienced Tradespeople.

Our multi-skilled courses are intensive but taught in a relaxed, friendly and professional manner by experienced tradespeople who are approved by City & Guilds.  We will fully support you when you finish your training course so you will be confident using your new found skills, after completing any training with us you are able to call into the centre or contact your tutor directly to discuss anything that you covered on your course.

Regular Start Dates.

We have courses starting throughout the year and Saturday courses also available.  Please feel free to contact Donna on 01782 837007 or via enquiries@tradeteacher.co.uk or donna.king@tradeteacher.co.uk and she will work with you to plan dates.

More Training for your Money.

Less classroom time, more tools in hands time.  Although our courses are short they are very intensive and you will be in your bays completing practical work on day one.  The only way you are going to learn a trade is by having the tools in your hand and practicing, practicing, practicing.

It is also important when completing a course that you are training in a good sized area as this give you the confidence to complete work when you leave the centre.  When deciding on which training centre to attend take the time to compare sizes of training bays and visit a centre when a course is on to speak with learners.

After completing the courses with you I left the Royal Navy after 32 years and, subsequently, I have been very busy as a self employed Handyman. I have put to good use all of the skills learned during your very informative and very well taught courses.

I have fitted kitchens and a bathroom (with associated plumbing), laid a patio and built a wall round it, plastered numerous ceilings and walls and done several tiling jobs – not to mention a myriad of other jobs including lots of painting and fitting loads of skirting board. The only thing I haven’t done yet is build a stud wall!

I can honestly say that the courses I completed (Plastering and Plumbing, Kitchen fitting, Carpentry, Bricklaying and Tiling) have been invaluable in providing me with both the skills and confidence to take on jobs for customers rather than just DIY. Additionally the help given by your great team of tutors in preparing quotes for different jobs deserves a particular mention because, quite often, the most difficult part of a job is getting the quote correct and competitive.

Many thanks to all staff for helping me with my business and for making all of the courses an enjoyable experience.
